Had neat and airy room with exceptionally comfortable bed, I truly enjoyed it. Location: the hotel was just next door to beautiful Sulmona and 2 outstanding restaurants : Gino's and Il Vecchio Muro🙂
Everything was spot on!

The hotel has tastefully decorated and well-appointed rooms. It is located in a downtown area, in a great part of town. Central location, just a short walk away from Jackpot Golf Club. Lovely building and rooms with comfortable beds. the breakfast was savoury. the staff were attentive.

I found this Albergo an ideal stop for an extended time of 9 days. The staff were warm and helpful to me and accommodated my wishes when I asked. The location was far superior to other hotels in a higher price range (naturally more modest rooms here too)...minutes from market, steps from the main street, but much quieter. You walk everywhere! The highlight was hearing superb, professional quality Opera productions by the cosi Opera Studies program from Canada every night for this one week! Lucky timing and perfect location for me. I enjoyed very good Abruzzo home cooking here as well and the staff were always eager to offer what I wished for all three meals if I asked. Staying here felt like actually "living" in Sulmona, not being a tourist. I was very happy with my stay, would recommend this hotel to friends, and will book it again myself. Grazie Mille to Giuseppe, Roberto and their Mama!

We were a group of four who enjoyed the night we stayed in this hotel. What we most appreciated about the hotel was its location in the very center of Sulmona's old quarter--one couldn't do better. The staff was also very helpful, very friendly. Our two double rooms were large, spacious, and clean, and we enjoyed having a comfortable sitting room and kitchen, although one of us did have to share a bathroom. We weren't in the hotel proper, but what appeared to be an annex; our two rooms appeared to be part of a large apartment. It was a trifle odd, but not a problem, for we did love the high-ceilinged and elegant space that we found ourselves in. We'd certainly return. Very good value.

The staff (owners) were extremely accommodating in allowing other members of our family, who were not staying in the hotel, to come and meet us and virtually take over the small dining room for lengthy periods. In other ways they were also unfailingly helpful. They also spoke sufficient English to enable non-Italian speakers to communicate with them. The dinner menu was limited but of good quality and there was a good selection of excellent Abruzzo wine.

We had a lovely stay in this family-run hotel and cannot speak too highly of the family's efforts on our behalf. Albergo Stella is in the old, historic part of Sulmona, which is lovely. We were very comfortable in our room and, when we had a problem with our hire-car, Roberto was so helpful, as were his brother and mother. We had a delicious evening meal and a small reception to meet family and friends, which was arranged at short notice and was perfect. Though we could have parked in the town, we chose to use the Chiara carpark, accessed easily from the ring road and a short walk from the hotel, accross Piazza Garibaldi - we bought a single ticket and could come and go at will.

The owners are fantastic, friendly and helpful hosts. The value is quite extraordinary, although being February and low season I guess that counts a lot. The old centre of Sulmona, where the hotel is brilliantly situated, is a extraordinarily attractive medieval town, the mountains of the Maiella, Grand Sasso and the Abruzzo around providing a most dramatic backdrop. Greta location for exploring the region around
